I suspect that the Alliance Church promotes an ideology of hate towards a number of groups, including, but not limited to people with a disposition towards homosexuality, the trans* community, and folks that are sex positive. This said, I will limit my investigation of the hate hypothesis to the group of people with a disposition towards homosexuality.
Obviously, Alliance Church members and leaders will deny this and claim to love all of God’s creation. But the question of having an ideology that promotes hatred is not straight forward.
An allegation of hate speech, or of having a hateful ideology, towards an institution like the Mission and Alliance church is very serious and needs to be made cautiously. I am not yet making the allegation; it remains a suspicion. I want to examine the official policies, doctrines and practices of the Alliance Church, before I draw conclusions.
